I'm building an application in Flex 3 and accessing it using Flash Player 10. The user can modify the contents of a TextArea. It's very important to me that users can enter text in all languages.
The TextArea obviously supports displaying text of all languages: Chinese, Hebrew, Spanish, etc. On Windows, inputting text in all of these languages seem to work.
However, on Mac OSX I am having trouble. Users can enter text in Chinese, but they cannot type in Hebrew even when the computer's language settings are changed, and they cannot type Spanish accents as they normally would (for example, Option+e, e for é). Is this is a known problem? Is there any solution?
Is it for sure that at the same time it is possible and tested that the user can successfully write text in other applications? If she can what happens if you copy and paste the text to your TextArea?
Yes. The same users who cannot input Spanish and Hebrew into the TextArea cannot succesfully type in Spanish and Hebrew in other applications. They are able to copy and paste Spanish and Hebrew into the TextArea, but they are not able to type it in directly.
