In general you see some kind of animation when the movie has to load many items. For this to work the loading animation has to be loaded first, otherwise it won't work. You can gradually load an animation and proceed to the next step when the required objects are loaded.

So that means the SWF file will first get totally loaded into the client' and then get played.
Is there any way to know the total playing time of the loaded movie clip just after the movie clip is loaded?
I want this to display the "elapsedTime/totalTime" in the play-progress bar for that loaded movie clip.
Whether the loading-movie has to load completely depends on how it is setup. If it is setup properly, it can start earlier.
So you're going to load an external swf library. I think it should be possible to get the number of frames used in that swf, but I can't tell you how.
