Vectorize raster images for large format output

Anyone have any experience with this? I have a 300 dpi image at 5.7" tall. It has to be scaled up to 14 feet at 100 dpi. The with of the image will be a little over 91 feet. This is for a mural at the rear of a stage for a corporate meeting. The file would be over 36 GB. I'm not even sure my mac could process a file that big. I was thinking of vectorizing the file and scaling the vector version up to the final size.

Anyone ever done this before and have any advice? I made a test with a slice of the image and it looks sort of painterly, or paint by numbers. The audience would probably be 20 ft. from the mural.
