I am usually scripting in Indesign.
But a customer ask me if I could generate a pricelist document with a discount field that would change all prices in the pdf
Is there any way to place attributes on fields in Indesign så that acrobat could understand them.
( I have tried to export to pdf with "create tagged pdf" but when I open the tagspanel in acrobat no attributes are displayed and many of my Indesign tags are replaced by new ones)
Is there any way to structure a pdf outside of acrobat and make Acrobat understand that structure so that I can traverse the structure with .js and make changes in Acrobat??
I would really appreciate any help on this!
It's possible, but you should do that in Acrobat, not in InDesign (I'm not even sure it's possible there).
Hi and many thanks for your reply!
There should be a way of making some sort of structure so that when I open the pdf file in Acrobat I can traverse it and search for all textfileds containing prices. I would like all textfileds that contains a price to have a unique identifier.
Acrobat has a field recognition function. You can try that.
And you don't want to give the same name to all of those fields, or they
will all have the same value. You can name them price1, price2, price3, etc.
