Are you testing this locally or online? It can sometimes make a difference.
Good point. No, I'm just publishing it locally so far.
It did occur to me that it might behave differently once the swf is running from an actual browser.
It's a portfolio with a lot of dynamically loaded files via the loader component, so I'm waiting till it's complete before I upload to server and test it, due to the large number of linked files.
Hopefully the blank browser window will not launch when the action is generated from within the browser plug-in.
Just to follow up (in case another beginner needs the answer) the blank browser window issue does indeed resolve once the site is published to the remote server and is viewed in the actual browser plug-in. I suppose this is something that everyone in the world but me already knew.
