How many files do you have open in Fireworks simultaneously? 10? 20? 100?
I don't think I saw such a bug in the past, and my experience with Fireworks is pretty broad...
Any additional details may help reproduce the bug you're speaking of...
5+ open and seems to get worse the more open
recreating: open 10 1000x1000 image files
FW opens all the images in tabs.
You select the tab you want to work on
Now select a different tab to work on a different image
you can see the new image in the properties preview
use the export wizard
result: the export wizard preview shows you are exporting the previous image you viewed and will export that image
if you are working on a photo gallery, or having to modify a number of photos, this is extremely frustrating and wastes time. the only way to stop it from ruining your work flow is working on all the images first, then using the export wizard so no matter what photo it decides you are working on (whether you are or not), it's still your finished work.
I do remember someone else posting about this problem. So I Googled. I found this:
The suggested workaround (by Sarthak Singhal, no less) is to click on the canvas of the document you wish to export, not just select it with the tab or title bar.
See if that helps you.
I will try to report this bug to the Fireworks developers. Looks like it is only a Mac issue (never seen it on Windows).
Since it was Sarthak who responded to that posting, I'm pretty sure the developers know about it.
Hi Jon n all,
I am confirming that we are aware of this issue and has been communicated to all the internal folks as an action item for us.
