Can you explain what the problem is?
I put a link to the form in question.
I have one workstation that when I attempt to fill in the form, on line 1a, the letter 'I' is always capitalized. This doesn't happen on any other form field on this form; or on any other forms on this computer.
For example, if I type on line 1a my name: Eli Tomlinson, it will display ElI TomlInson.
I have just tried to fill in the form in your link
- on Internet Explorer 8
- on Firefox 3.5.5
- on a downloaded version
I cannot reproduce the problem; my name appears with normal lower-case 'i' in the 1A field.
If I type on line 1a the name: Eli Tomlinson, it will display Eli Tomlinson.
I have tried this form on 4 different computers. The problem only happens on one computer. The other three computers
That is why I don't know where to start for troubleshooting.
One of the three computers on which this form works properly is configured identically to the computer that will show Eli Tomlinson as ElI TomlInson.
You can us all caps for IRS forms.
There is nothing wrong with the keyboard. It is capable of lowercase 'i' on all of the other form fields within the same IRS form. Only on line 1a of this one single form does it have a problem. If you enter a lowercase 'i' on the second line, and copy-and-paste it to the first line, it will change to uppercase 'I'.
And if the problem is the computer, what on Earth would cause this problem only in this one instance? That is why I was looking for help troubleshooting. I don't know where to begin.
