I actually ran into the EXACT same issue. I don't think it's a bug, and my theory is that the reason you have to style the disabled style is because once you click on it and it brings you do that page, it's disabled (ie - you can't click on it again).
Ah. Glad I'm not crazy. What I don't get is why the UIComponent class, which LinkBar extends (through NavBar -> Box -> Container) uses this code for setting the color:
textFormat.color = enabled ?
It's using the enabled property. I guess it works as intended, just a bit confusing....
Its using the enabled property, but only as a means for determining the textFormat.color property value. So enabled is no doubt set to false for the first ViewStack child once it is created on the screen.
