Can you explain better?
In Fireworks, you can show the grid (View > Grid > Show Grid) -- or even snap to it. In Preferences, you can specify grid steps (10px, or 15px, or whatever suits you!).
You can also create you own guides, which can help you in a sepcific design task! Click on View > Rulers. Then drag from the horizontal or vertical ruler a guide. You can have any numbers of guides present! Removing a guide is easy -- just drag it outside of the canvas!
I hope this helps you?...
Hello, thanks for the reply, but in reality and what I need to know is how do I save these settings so that when I open a new file it maintains the specifications of grid.
Sorry my english. =)
Maybe Sarthak can help you better, in this case...
I don't remember exactly, but it may be that Fw doesn't remember Grid preferences, for some reason (it could be that there's a workaround, though)...
My English isn't perfect, too, but I don't worry too much about it
Who is Sarthak?
Sarthak Singhal is a Fireworks guru, he also happens to be developing Fireworks @ Adobe, so if there's someone who can help you, it is certainly him!
sure, he has e-mail?
how can I send a message to him?
He's visiting these forums often -- I am sure if he knows the answer to your question, he'll reply!
(Or maybe some other Fireworker will reply before him;-)
You can save the guideline positions as a command via the History panel. Open the History panel menu by clicking on the down arrow at it's top right. Shift Click on the Add Guides instances to highlight them, and then, from the menu again, choose Save as a Command. Give your command a name. The next time you open a document you will be able to apply your guide setup from the FW Command menu.
