Reply below posted in response to the same question in the DW forum:
Image resolution (or dpi) only matters when printing.
It has no effect on viewing images on screen.
What matters on the web is image dimensions (height x width measured in
pixels) and compression because for a given image you're balancing filesize
vs perceived quality.
