    taropaa Level 1

      Hi,

      I basically comed the web for an answer but found nothing.

      How would one be able to set a splash screen for an AIR application built in flash.

      any comments would be greately appreciated

          On the first frame of your first scene write this:

          import flash.desktop.*;
          import flash.display.NativeMenu;
          import flash.display.NativeMenuItem;

          import flash.events.TimerEvent;
          import flash.utils.Timer;

          var App_Timer:Timer = new Timer(3000,1); //After 3 Seconds the timer causes the movie to jump to the next frame

          App_Timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER_COMPLETE, startApp);

          App_Timer.start();

          function startApp(event:TimerEvent):void {
              this.gotoAndStop(2); //here your app starts
          }

          stop();

          If you want to go for a classic splashscreen (like Flash itself) you will have to set the windowStyle to userdefined/transparent (Air options)

            Thanks moccamaximum, that works. I will have to create my own interface, but I was planning to do that anyways.
