I haven't got around to playing with it yet but it seems to me that the open source media framework will become the way to handle audio and video. All though the library seems to be video centric I can see through the examples that it also deals very well with audio.
oops, forgot to mention that the player will not stop the download stream directly you need to use the stream close() function to cancel the download.
I do use the 'Sound' 'close' function, but still i can see the file is being
downloaded (I see it in my network monitor), and this cause all the network
to be very slow...
Is there any other way to stop the file from being loaded?
P.S. i also removed all the event listeners
If you want to post the code I can test it on my host with a large mp3 to see what your code is doing. Seems strange that close is not working.
Compile this and see if it works for you, the mp3 is 6mb. the label shows the bytes being downloaded, as soon as you press stop the download is stopped. This shows in the progressevent, also it will continue to play becuase of the buffer but it will stop playing at the point where the close() was called.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
private var snd:Sound = new Sound();
private var Sndurl:String = "http://flashhub.net/song.mp3";
private function sndLoad(): void
private function sndStatus(e:ProgressEvent): void
private function sndStop():void
<s:Button x="10" y="10" label="Start" click="sndLoad()"/>
<s:Button x="10" y="30" label="Stop" click="sndStop()"/>
<s:Label x="11" y="59" text="Label" id="lbl" width="78" height="21"/>
Wow, it works.
I'll check what i did wrong in my code...
Thanks a lot!
