Barbara B. Nov 22, 2009 7:31 AM (in response to Ian R. Brown)Bridge needs to build the cache for the current view, so sometimes you just have to wait it out.

Ian R. Brown Nov 22, 2009 8:34 AM (in response to Barbara B.)Thanks Barbara, I know there is sometimes a delay of a few seconds but this was much longer.
Currently I have 57 items on my 24" iMac desktop and quite a few of them are videos. Do you reckon that could have caused a delay of several minutes?
Or are these excessive delays a known occurrence?
I have owned PS CS3 for a couple of years but never experienced such a long updating delay.

Ian R. Brown Dec 24, 2009 5:44 AM (in response to Ian R. Brown)A final (I hope!) update.
Today I opened Bridge and clicked on the desktop, whereupon Bridge froze for about 13 minutes.
I realised that my number of files on the desktop had risen to 68 with a content size of 76 GB.
Possibly a little excessive!
So I cut down the number of files to 16 by placing them in "Desktop Tidies" . . . . . folders to store my numerous files/folders.
Lo and behold, Bridge now opens the Desktop instantaneously.
Looks as though I was overdoing the number of files a bit!
