    Acr.tmp Files

    ouix

I'm working with Illustrator CS2, on an iMac, running OSX 10.5.8

Lately, when I'm working on a file in Illustrator, a whole series of temp files are being created in the same folder as the original that I'm working on.

They always have series of numbers after the "Acr"

      For example,

      Acr1462462.tmp

      Acr146248035.tmp

      Acr1462412486.tmp

Does anyone have an explanation / solution for this problem?

          ouix,

Sometimes, strange issues are solved by reinstalling Acrobat.

We have not seen this one before, but you never know.

It may be wirth a try.

            Hi Jacob...

Thank you so much for replying to my question. I've been hoping that someone might post an easy alternative to re-installing Acrobat.

I think I'll wait a bit more, and then try the re-install.

            Once again, thank you!

(I'm always impressed with how helpful people are on this site....)

                Hi Ouix.

Did re-installing Acrobat fix your issue?  I'm seeing this issue in Adobe Illustrator CS4.

I've noticed that these temp files are left over after I get a "This file has been modified outside Illustrator.  Do you want to continue?".  Can save the file if it is local, but if the file is on a server connected through SMB then I get an error that says "Cannot save to this filename.  Please save the document with a different name or in a different folder."

                Thanks for the information.
