I downloaded the trail version of After Effects CS4 to take a look at the new features. I then unloaded the program and tried to start my After Effects CS3 already installed on my system and I received the following message: "The procedure entry point?FindClass@subclassList@qaehvclass_ID@@@z could not be located in the dynamic link library core.dll"
I have uninstalled and reinstalled After Effects CS3 and this made no difference, and I re-added "core.dll" to my system32 registry in Windows XP, but this too made no difference. I keep getting the same error message!
Can anybody please help?
You need to re-install each and every Adobe program on your system, I'm afraid. There is no other way to recover this error otherwise. Seems like the CS4 trial has wrongly bent some Dynamic Linkstuff to point to itself when it shouldn't. Uninstall everything, then run the CS3 and CS4 Clean Scripts, respectively. After that, re-install. Make sure to reboot your system after the various uninstall/ install procedures as well as deactivating the apps before uninstalling.
Thank you very much; I will give this a try!
