I have seen lots of speculation about why no 2 swf files have the same MD5 checksum. Can anyone tell me what exactly is preventing this? I have made some sample apps that when compiled twice have the same MD5, but eventually it stops working. I have tried turning off the compress feature in Flash and toyed with other options. Is there certain Top Level classes that cause issues with trying to get MD5 checksums to work? Is this something Adobe would consider adding to the compiler? Any help would be appreciated.
I appreciate the suggestion but there are far more differences than just the date. You can use the Adobe or swfTools versions of swfDump and see that several differences exist in the bytecode and they do not steam from the date. I believe it has to do with the way that the ActionScript Compiler (ASC) parses and links file based on dependencies.
