I'm animating a mask for a logo keyline (rectangle shape) and I need it to reveal just like i was brushing the keyline so not the upper and lower lines of the rectangle at the same time as would be the case with a simple rectangular mask swiping across but just the upper to begin with as if someone was tracing the keyline with their finger revealing it bit by bit.
Do I have to created a number of masks or is there a way to do this easily?
Ok had a crack at it myself and seem to have good results animating the keyline one section at a time adding more points to the mask when necessary. If anyone has any better ways to do it I'd very much like to here them!
Draw a mask around the keyline. (If yours is a rectangle, it should be very easy). Apply the Generate/Stroke effect, set the width and colour, and animate the in or out point to reveal the line over time.
You can use the same concept on a solid and then use it as a track matte to reveal an existing layer.
Hey Andrew, thanks for the reply, I'll give that a go!
