Appearance Panel > Add New Stroke
Drag stroke below "Content" in the Appearance Panel.
Set stroke how you want it.
thanks Scott, this is an interesting approach, but the illustrations are line with no fill, so the stroked shapes show through even though they're in the back. Hope this is understandable...
First the link to your website belongs in your profile it is really against the rules to place a link to your website but it is encourage to place it in your profile. Anyone wanting t see what you do will automatically look there so it is a sure bet.
I prepared a movie showing your the solution to your problem I may have made it slightly more complex than it has to be but only slightly.
one you do this since it is an effect you will be able to make a graphic style and not have to do it again.
I hadn't thought of offsetting the paths, which makes converging, open paths actually overlap a bit so I can then unite them. Still might require a little tweaking in certain situations, but this should save some time. Thanks!
I can't seem to include my url in my profile like you have. Suggestions?
Click yourself, click Edit fourms profile under Actions to the left, and insert the information. You should hide your email address, unless you like trouble.
Thanks Jacob, I just found it. For some reason I wasn't seeing the "Edit profile" area.
You are welcome, Curtis.
also though not a critical matter you should try to mark a particular post as the answer if it meets the criteria as that point a user looking for the same answer more directly at the post in question the helpfuls are also important to mark as that might point someone with a similr question to a possible solution for their needs.
The points are meaningless so that is not an issue but marking the post has value.
Hi Wade, yeah I would have done that but, though your answer was helpful, it's still requiring some work/tweaking of paths in some cases. I'm playing around with some alternatives...thanks
