Excellent news, Neale. Now, maybe the gamer-editors can have their cake and eat it too!
Considering the work that nVidia and Adobe are doing together on the OpenCL and CUDA, it would only seem right that nVidia produced products and drivers that were 100% compatible with Adobe products.

I can also confirm that the new driver release works in it's entirity with no crashes on my win7 64bit, nvidia GeForce 9600GT, PE8. I did not spend a lot of time testing but I did get the impression that the driver performance from a refresh point of view with PE8 was slower with 3d and physx installed (but no crashes). Just a perception thing no data to back this up. I might just uninstall them again anyway. Great to see a resolution (pardon the pun). Cheers Paul
There seemed to be some issues in PrE 8, with things like adding some Transitions, scrolling though Transitions, and clicking on some tabs.
Hope that the good reports on the new drivers keep coming it.
