    access database


      is it possible to connect or use database built in MSAccess ? i am developing a standalone application.

          As far as i know, no.


          I tried to find this out a while back, before i managed to convince my team to move to mySQL, and the most informative answer i found was


          The answer would be no.

          Flex can talk to servers, via standard TCP/IP protocols, but it doesn't do
          ODBC as it's cross-platform. Knowing Microsoft though there's probably a
          very easy way to expose web services from .net that access the MDB via a DSN

          There's a .net launcher for AIR that you could use, and put all your data
          access in the .net side of things, but besides knowing of its existence and
          how it works, that's all I know about it.

          And shame on you for using Access ;-)
