Connecting to mySQL using Flex 3

    Scott R. Hamilton

I've been wracking my brains for the last week to get Flex/MXML to
access data in a mySQL database.

I have installed php 5.3.1 and downloaded the latest version of
AMFPHP. Using Mike Potter's example (written in 2006) does not
work using Flex 3.  In Flex there is simply no response. If
I start the request.php example in the browser directly, I get
      an error message:

      Call to undefined function mysql_connect.

Is there a tutorial or other examples available that describe how to
      do this using Flex 3?

Is AMFPHP still the preferred method for accessing mySQL? This website
appears to be a bit of a ghost town as all of the entries and tutorials
are at least a year or two old.

I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction.
