I am evaluating Captivate 4 and have used the trial version to create some software demos. I have added audio using the excellent text to speech tool and have checked the "Closed Caption" option when adding my text to be spoken to each slide.
By right clicking on the generated audio I have checked the "Closed captioning..." option and there IS actually caption text associated with the audio.
My problem is that when the project is published to an SWF file, I can't seem to find a way to switch the closed captions on? I see that some of the demos on the Adobe home page have a "CC" button that can be used to toggle captions on and off. My output file does not have this control... is there a switch I need to set somewhere to make closed captions visible?
You can go to menu item Project > Skin Editor.
Skin Editor dialog opens. Please check the checkbox "Clsoed Captioning".
Now when you preview / publish you should get a "Cc" button in playbar.
Thanks for that! I've been scratching my head all morning and I don't think I would have stumbled on that by myself
