Has there been any discussion about including a PlaylistElement in OSMF?  Or, is playlist functionality outside the scope of this framework?

We do have some playlist support going into the framework this sprint.  Since each playlist format requires a different parser (SMIL may require a different parser than M3U), we have put in a LoadableMediaElement which helps in writing a playlist parser.   There is a FMMLoader and Manifest parser  currently in the trunk, but it's still a work in progress.  This can serve as an example of how to use the LoadableMediaElement to make a playlist.  To make a custom parser, subclass the MediaElementLoader, and return a MediaElementLoadedContext.   The MediaElementLoaded Context will be the base of the playlist (such as a SerialElement, filled with VideoElements).
