Multiple Applications Created in Embedded IE Browser

      Hello Flex Forums,

Lately I've noticed an issue using Flex applications within an embedded IE browser (in particular the eclipse WST internal browser) and I was wondering if anyone else has seen a similar issue and might be able to help.

In my application I have a JSP page that loads a flex SWF using the swfobject javascript library. After the SWF has finished loading properly it will call back to javascript using ExternalInterface to say that it is now ready to accept the data that will be used to determine what to display in the Flex app.

When the user is finished interacting with the swf an additional ExternalInterface call will be made and the javascript will send a post message to the current page. The result of this post message will be the same page but with different data to send to the swf (if necessary).

This all works fine in IE and Firefox, however when using the eclipse WST internal browser which should be an embedded IE OLE control I'm seeing some very strange behavior. The first time the swf loads it works as expected, but after the post and the page is loaded again the flex application seems to get stuck in a message loop. The CPU starts locking up at 100% and by looking at the flex logs for my app the CreationComplete method is being called many many times.

My logs look something like this:
7/9/2008 12:03:43.346 [INFO] mx.messaging.Producer 'FADD8D0E-AE83-0869-250E-093527F2124D' producer set destination to 'DefaultHTTP'.
7/9/2008 12:03:43.396 [INFO] appname0 Resources loaded for en

7/9/2008 12:03:43.406 [INFO] appname33 Resources loaded for en
      7/9/2008 12:03:43.456 [INFO] appname0 Application Creation Complete
      7/9/2008 12:03:43.466 [INFO] appname0 Application Creation Complete

In a working scenario there should only be one Application and the resource loading and creationComplete should only occur once. Also in a normal scenario the first messaging.Producer log entry does not appear. For some reason I'm seeing multiple Applications created and 2 creationComplete calls for each.

I'm running Windows XP, IE 7.0.5730.13, Flash Player and Eclipse 3.4 WST 1.1.201

This could be an issue with IE, swfobject or Flex so I thought this would be a good place to start. Any help would be appreciated.
