1. Re: PE8 and JVC GZ-HD7 - Anyone got it working
Steve Grisetti Dec 1, 2009 5:20 AM (in response to Totallytotal)Unfortunately, JVC camcorders have been difficult camcorders to work with ever since they introduced the Everio.
Here's probably the best solution.

Totallytotal Dec 1, 2009 6:06 AM (in response to Steve Grisetti)Thank you for the reply. I can't see the pic(attachment).
What is a good HDD camera that is currently available that will work fine without any file format problems?
I see that many new cameras are now coming with 1920x1080p resolution.
One of the main problems I have with the HD7 is low-light performance.
Cheers

3. Re: PE8 and JVC GZ-HD7 - Anyone got it working
Steve Grisetti Dec 1, 2009 7:54 AM (in response to Totallytotal)I would not recommend a hard drive camcorder, unless you have a tremendously powerful computer to edit the video with. AVCHD camcorders create a video file that taxes even quad core computers running maximum RAM. Although some people are working with AVCHD on quad cores with 4 gigs or more of RAM and are pretty happy with the results.
For a more modestly powered computer, your best bets are tape-based camcorders. The Canon HV series are excellent tape-based HDV cams.
For best low light performance, stick with Sony or Canon. Panasonics are also very good.
