What model exactly? You may simply need some specific driver. also, what exactly are you referring to when you say you disable the touch screen? Do you mean Windows' own tablet options?
I have the Sony Vaio VPCL116FX. To turn off the touch screen (use mouse only), I went to CONTROL PANEL - HARDWARE and SOUND - PEN and TOUCH - selected the TOUCH tab and clicked off "Use your finger as an input device. The block mouse icon is the same with this option on or off and only effects AE.

I'm afraid I can't offer any specific guidance. I searched Sony's info on the matter, but short of an update from last week (http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VPCL116FX), i could not find anything. Here's one interesting bit of info, though, from the original manufacturer of these touch screens: http://www.nextwindow.com/nextwindow_support/faqs-D.html#missing_mouse_clicks. Checking your Sony driver and/ or downloading the original tweak tools may offer a solution to the problem.
Thanks Mylenium! I appreciate the effort. That was helpful.
If anyone else happens to know what I can do, please let me know. So frustrating :-(
