i am new to video and trying to edit Canon 5D mark ii videos on CS3 but notice it to be slow and stutters during editing & playback.
the computer system i use is:
HP-AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core, 3.0GHz, 3GB RAM
Model: M8200N
Vista OS
Videocard: NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 128mb
i tried using KM Player, AVS Video Converter, and defrag my disk, but still doesn't work. should Quicktime 7 pro work? i think my card above cannot handle 30fps. what do you think? now, i'm thinking of replacing my video card for one of these below to hopefully fix this slow problem.
XFX - ATI RADEON HD 4650 1GB DDR2 PCI Express
Galaxy - NVIDIA GeForce 210 DDR2 PCI Express Graphics Card 512MB
does anyone have other recommendations before i try the card replacement?
thanks
For that kind of material you need a new PC. Your current system is way underpowered. Think at least i7, nothing AMD.
There are maybe five recent threads on the Canon 5D Mk II footage. Two are quite long, but each has some good details on working with the footage.
I'd Search this forum for "Canon 5D Mk II," and maybe filter on Jeff Bellune and also PaulineDC. Both were involved in most of those threads.
Good luck,
Hunt
Here's ONE, and it's titled for Canon 5d Mk 2 (note no Roman numerals - I'd try that too).
Good luck,
