    can't shut down PC

I have for years been unable to close a PC without answering the Reader error that occurs when attempting to

shut down a PC.  It is not limited to version, or platform, or PC brand.  It happens everywhere.

Why won't Reader close properly when the PC shuts down?

First I've heard. I've used Acrobat and Reader on dozens of machines without this issue. Perhaps the problem lies with other software you have on these systems. If you want us to try to trouble shoot the issue, give us specifics with OS and Reader version and what other software autoloads on the computer.
