It sounds, from your other post, as though you have figured out that you need to use the correct project settings for your video and audio. This should get you 95% of the way there.
Then, when you export your video using Share/Personal Computer/MOV, use one of the default presets. Usually this will give you a non-letterboxed version of your video. Also, have a look at the FAQs to right of the forum.
But remember also that YouTube has its own action going on, and it could well be ondoing whatever you're doing right. So the best you can do is do your best -- and hope YouTube doesn't screw it up too bad by re-encoding it.

Yes, black bars, whether at the sides, top/bottom, or all around, show that there is a mismatch between the source footage, and the Project Preset. To fill the screen without having to Scale the footage, one first gets the info of that footage, things like Frame Size, PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio), FPS, Audio format, etc., and then chooses a Project Preset that matches in all respects. When that is done, there will be no black bars anywhere, unless another type of footage is Imported.
Good luck, and hope that that info helps,
Thanks. That is true. I did figure out the presets. Now its just the export..
