I just installed windows 7 Pro, and am trying to install Premiere Pro 2.0 but it seems as though the cd drive won't even read the disc. It tries for a while then gives up, producing nothing. I got it to work ONCE and it seemed to go through all the normal setup procedures, including asking for my serial number, which I gave it. But at some point it got hung up, told me it couldn't install something then shut down without any explanation. There's no trace of any part of this program on the computer at all. I'm kind of stumped as to why this might be happening. Anyone have an idea?
Possibly this is a self-protect mechanism, because 2.0 has not been designed to run under Win7. Try XP instead.
I'm not surprised as Windows Vista wasn't out there let alone Windows 7. You can run in an XP compatible mode within Win7 but your best bet is to upgrade to a version that officially supports Windows 7, which is CS4.
Since you have Win7 Pro, see if this will help
