Hoping someone can clear this up for me.
If I create a socket and try to connect to a port that isn't accepting connections, I get an IOErrorEvent. If I then try and connect to a different port, the socket fails to connect, but I get no errors. Is this the correct behavior? Should I use a fresh socket for each connection attempt?
I'm just starting to work with Sockets, but in my work with URLStream (which is
somewhat similar), I've found that calling close() did not always behave as expected (see., e.g., https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-20 ).
