1. Re: Can't Edit One Particular File
~graffiti Dec 7, 2009 11:13 AM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)What can you tell us about the page and how it was built. Does it contain any include files or is it set up differently than others?
Is it somewhere you can give us a link to?

andrewmcgibbon Dec 7, 2009 12:14 PM (in response to ~graffiti)Thanks for your response. You can see the page here:
http://www.jalc.org/jazzED/eac_hotseats.html
It was created using templates. The email sign-up at the top is an include from Constant Contact but this appears on every page of our site and we are able to edit other pages.

~graffiti Dec 7, 2009 6:54 PM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)Which part of the page are you trying to edit?

4. Re: Can't Edit One Particular File
andrewmcgibbon Dec 7, 2009 7:05 PM (in response to ~graffiti)Frankly, any part (in an editable region) but the problem is it doesn't even let me get that far. You click on edit and it doesn't do anything.

5. Re: Can't Edit One Particular File
~graffiti Dec 7, 2009 8:25 PM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)Hmm.
Well I don't see anything with the file that would make it any different than some of the other pages on that site that I looked at.
Do you administer the site? If not, you may want to contact the party that does.
Sorry. Wish I could tell you more.

~graffiti Dec 8, 2009 8:43 AM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)Have you considered opening one of the other, similar pages, adding the body content from the problem page and saving over that page?

7. Re: Can't Edit One Particular File
andrewmcgibbon Dec 8, 2009 12:05 PM (in response to ~graffiti)So weird. I recreated the page here:
http://www.jalc.org/jazzed/eac_hotseats2.html
and had not problem editing the page. The minute I saved that page as:
http://www.jalc.org/jazzed/eac_hotseats.html
I am unable to edit it again. Any further ideas?
Many thanks for your help.

andrewmcgibbon Dec 8, 2009 12:06 PM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)Worst case scenario we just use the second version of the page. I just like to figure this stuff out because it gnaws at me.

9. Re: Can't Edit One Particular File
andrewmcgibbon Dec 8, 2009 12:53 PM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)We just discovered something here. I am working in DW CS4. The rest of the staff is working in Contribute CS3. It seems as though when I check out a document, update and then check it back in, this is when it ceases working. Are you aware of any problems with issues between CS3/CS4 of these two products?

10. Re: Can't Edit One Particular File
~graffiti Dec 9, 2009 6:12 AM (in response to andrewmcgibbon)Sorry. I thought you were using Contribute as well.
It "could" be the checkout process. I can't say for sure. I use DW CS3 and my users are using Contribute CS3.
Also, CS4 could be tossing in some code that isn't recognized by Contribute CS3. I'd open a working file and a non working file in DW and investigate the problem area.
