What's the difference between States and a ViewStack? It seems I can accomplish about the same thing with both.
I have an accordion control with, let's say, 5 panes defined and I want it to act something like a wizard. The first pane requires some validated data being entered and only then will the user be able to see/use the second pane and so on...
Or would it be easier to just keep track of it with an indexed variable, etc...?
States are great for smallish components but things can quickly become very complex and messy.
For your situation, ViewStack is actually better than Accordion, because you can have "Next" and "Back" navigation buttons where next button is only enabled if user has entered necessary data and will thus be allowed to proceed.
My Flex 3 Cookbook post shows how to create a ViewStack based wizard with this type of navigation, in a simple MVC environment.
