Matching Audio Levels between Premiere and DV Recording

I'm trying to download a project I'm working on from Premiere to a DV Camera.  It's a commercial grade Panasonic video camera (mini-DV tape).  When I check the play levels in Premiere they're around - 6 to - 12 db, but on the camera they're recording at close to + 9 db.  Transferring through an IEEE-1394 firewire cable (4-pin to 4-pin), and Premiere is controlling all the camera parameters.  (Mic setting on camera is on Auto.)  Is there anything I can calibrate here?
