Adobe Updater runs, and AE as well as a few other suite apps stay the same version. What's up with that?! They work, so i guess that's all that matters. LOL.
The installer data base is polluted/ locked, which can happen if you have certain combinations of Adobe software on your system with particular respect to install order and how they handle updates. Acrobat for instance seems to cause a mess for many people by locking shared components like the PDF libraries. Similar conditions can be caused by Beta software, if. you e.g. download stuff from Adobe Labs. Anyway, nothing you can fix easily. You'd have to uninstall everything Adobe, run thze CS4 Clean Script from the support pages, delete the caps.db, then re-install from scratch. if you don't need a specific fix in one of the updates probably not worth the effort until you realyl are in the mood...
