Any idea why lots of videos that I import (not all) play either too fast, or too slow (in the timeline)? I Googled the issue, and found some people saying stuff about codecs (nothing concrete), but a solution was never posted. (I don't want to dump all my codecs just yet, because I'd have to reconfigure a bunch of them when the time comes to reinstall them)
Is this a known thing?

Many of the ideas at the next link are generic enough they have helped some Non-Premiere users fix problems

Most video with exotic codec dont edit well in Premiere. To solve this 'problem' is to convert the files to some Premiere likes e.g. dv-avi type 2.
E.g. Divx and Xvid are well known for their issues.
