I've been doing web development for years, and this is a new one for me. I have a web site that contains 5 shockwave movies. Had them on a Windows 2003/IIS 6 box during development, and all was well. Moved them to an identical machine (2003/IIS6), and now they don't work. Everything about the 2 sites is the same, down to the smallest IIS settings. When you attempt to load movies on the second box, the progress bar appears, as does the first frame of the dcr, but then I get a "This Shockwave movie has errors" dialog, and it stops loading.
I've tested in different browsers and different machines to ensure it isn't just some fluke. What could possibly be affecting this?
failed clone site:
Yeah, I've tried every permutation of MIME types. I'm only using dcr files. It seems to work best if I don't specify any MIME types at the site level, strangely. Doing this, I've managed to get 3 out of 5 shockwave files working, but the largest two still don't. They only work if you click "Reset" from the player window. Seems to be an issue of the loading dcr? Of course, it still works fine on the original site (and my dev machine, and another server).
Found a compromise. Just removed the simple_progbar loader movie and specified the game files as the src directly.
