I have been tasked with making one of those mosaic image applications. I have never used AIR before, but thought I would because of it's file handling abilities. What I want to do first, is have an app that reads all images in an images folder, get the average color of each image, and store the color and file name in an xml file. So I thought I could use the File.applicationDirectory property and then append "images" to it in order to read the files in an images folder inside the applications folder - wherever it may be on the users machine. I will let the user put new images inside that images folder whenever they like... but so far I'm not having any luck.
Does this make sense? Any insight much appreciated.
I think I got it:
var directory:File = new File("app:/images");
Seems to work...
