Extracting zip file of images and painting in a mx:tree

      Hi all,

I'm basically a java developer and am new to flex. To start off with im going through the getting started with flex doc and a few others.

As a hands on thing i'm trying to do the following:

I have a zip file which has a directory/subdirectory level structure which contains images in them. So what i want to do is that be able to unpack the zip file and then have a mx:tree representation of the folder structure in the zip. Now these are the things that i am confused about:

      • Do i have to make use of java code to unpack the zip file or can i do it in the mxml code(forgive me if this sounds crazy)?
      • If suppose i have to make use of java then what kind of data should i provide in the dataprovider of mx:tree.
      • Again would i have to make use of the BlazeDS if i have to use java code?

It would be great if someone could point me in the right direction. Any links would be helpful.

      Thanks.
