    Pop up menu question

    Jcuhaj
This is probably a simple answer that I'm over looking. I have a vertical pop-up menu set up on the left side of a page. The pop-up sub-menu options display to the right of the images. Directly next to the pop up menu is a graphic image. The pop-up will not display over the image. You can see it display behind it. I have tried to send the image to the back, etc. How can this be done? Thanks!

A stripped down demo is at http://www.hikealabama.org/test/test.html. You'll see when you mouse over the link ALABAMA TRAILS, a sliver of the pop up can be see under the graphic. Thanks!

I can't reach the server. Maybe a routing problem in your host's
              network?

                Hello,

                Holy Layers!!!! (AP Divs) :-)

                Please, read this link.
Specifically, the "Trouble with Layers" part.
It will save you a lot of frustration as you've only run into the first
                issue.

                http://apptools.com:80/examples/pagelayout101.php

In the meantime, change the z-index of the layer the graphic is in to 0 then
the menu will be "above" the graphic.
You could probably change it to a number, I just said 0 so you could see the
                "stacking" order.

But, please, seriously consider starting over using regular ole' divs with
CSS positioning or even tables and nested tables rather than building the
                layout with layers.

You can search this forum for "Layers" and read many posts about broken
sites, from people who finished the entire site before realizing all the
problems. Most had to rebuild from scratch at that point.
As a test, open your "non-stripped down" site in FireFox and enlarge the
                text ( ctrl+ +0.
The site will likely break apart badly if you have text in these Layers..

                Take care,
                Tim

Thank you for the information! I see what you mean about layers. I appreciate it!
