I am applying fractal noise to a solid layer, I use this as a background for some text.
Problem is, the effects stops after a short while. I think this has something to do with "evolutions" etc.
What I am after (I have no time to learn about fractals now):
I want to generate a moving pattern behind my text, and I want it to move as long as it is inside the work area. The pattern can be a curtain, smoke or whatever. Why does it stop? How can I make it wrap around ans start over?
OK, I found this one after I had posted here. Seems like there is no way to make it loop as is, I have to render out first..
Those instructions don't say that you need to prerender. That's just one way; and, given that this effect takes a lot of processing power to render, it can improve performance as you're working on other elements.
As for any property, you could set an expression for the Evolution property and just have the simplest expression (time) tell that property to keep changing over time.
Please read this for an explanation of the problem and a possible workaround. Pre-rendering a clip and just letting it loop forever might not be a bad idea, though, as it's ther best way to control how seamless it will loop.
