1. Re: For pro photographers, what program do you use to convert RAW images?
Bill Hunt Dec 22, 2009 8:46 PM (in response to TerryLn22)Personally, I use ACR, and have been pleased. Now, I do still shoot silver capture for my large-format stuff, so I am still drum scanning those.
Good luck,
Hunt

John Joslin Dec 22, 2009 11:26 PM (in response to TerryLn22)Adobe Camera Raw is the way to go – it will do all you want and more.
You can pick up the basics very quickly but it pays in the long run to discover its incredible versatility by visiting the Camera Raw forum.
And read the book too!

p_d_f Dec 23, 2009 12:07 AM (in response to TerryLn22)Jeff - What version of CaptureOne are you using? The new v5 Pro version is very very nice and provides much better workflow, better raw processing and faster/better color and tonality than ACR. If you've been using C1 v3.7x then yes, there's a bit of a learning curve, but don't give up. It quickly becomes second nature and you'll forget all about the older versions in no time at all. The new focus mask is particularly interesting.

Marian Driscoll Dec 23, 2009 6:52 AM (in response to TerryLn22)In addition to those mentioned, I like RawTherapee.
The nifty thing about RawTherapee is that you might install it on your camera's memory card and run it portably wherever you plug in your camera or memory card.
