Well, you can certainly start with my free Basic Training tutorials at Muvipix.com.
And, if that gets you started, there are lots more tutorials (some free, some included with a subscription membership). Or, if you'd prefer a book with more meat to it than that "Dummies" book, you can order one of my books -- available at the Muvipix store and from Amazon.com.
EJMSR - I'm a big fan of the 'Missing Manual' books. I have the one for Pre8 (by Chris Grover) and I think it has a lot of good information. Two points however: I actually enjoy reading manuals and Pre8 is still not working correctly for me. Good luck.
I wish to second both of Steve's recs. His books are great, easy to follow, and offer great coverage. Next, the tutorials on Muvipix are not to be missed. Besides the "basic training," so many of the aspects of the program are covered in other tutorials.
For some usually written "tutorials," the Tips & Tricks sub-form, to the right of the main page, offer instructions on many aspects of the program, and also video editing in general.
Thank you. I registered to Muvipix.com
Took your advice, thanks
Good news, bad news, Thanks anyway
