post a link to your html page or the object embed code
Here is the link to our forum front page. You'll see that it's the new flash banner at the top which won't display on
Firefox, yet our banner rotator script "will" show 1 of our local ads (in flash) at the bottom of the forum sections.
remove the spaces from your swfs filename.
...tried that, made no difference!
(only the top one had spaces initially)
One thing though, sticking the swf link alone in the address bar works okay in Firefox!! ... but still showing blank white space in the full HTML doc??
(even IE with compatibility mode switched "off" throws it to the right!!)
Coding for cross browser compatibility ... OH JOY!!!!
Hmm? ... is there a difference in how Firefox interprets the HTML code (object/embed) ?
if you do a file > publish preview > html does this page work in firefox? If so, use the embed code from that page.
Or investigate swfObject for better swf embedding / player detection
Well, thank you for your advice guys!!!
It appears to have been a combination of the structure of <embed> and <object> coding, as my initial string worked in IE no problem, so had to change it to work in Firefox too! ... also using <div align="center"> rather than <center> or <td align="center"> tags, fixed the positioning of the swf elements (which were thrown off to the right in Firefox.
One day, maybe all browsers will work together (we can hope!)
