1. Re: blu-ray disc chapter buttons not working on authored disc.
Ann Bens Dec 26, 2009 5:26 AM (in response to nados)The BD is not playing properly on the pc or a standalone?
I test BD first as an iso with Power dvd ultra with Virtual Clone DVD.
If the menu works properly its the standalone, might burn with a lower speed.
When dvd came out first there was a lot of incompatibilities, history is repeating itself.

2. Re: blu-ray disc chapter buttons not working on authored disc.
nados Dec 26, 2009 7:51 AM (in response to Ann Bens)BD did not play properly on my pc BD burner. I do not have a BD set top box to test the BD on.
After i authored the BD there was no incompatabilities or history of repeating.
The BD starts ok. I have 2 menus: the main menu with "play all", "resume" and "chapter menu" and the chapter menu with all of the chapter point buttons. The main menu work fine but the chapter menu does not. Any chapter button pressed on the chapter menu just goes nowhere.
PowerDVD8 (that came with the BDR-203 burner) does not appear to be able to play a ISO image. Do i need to install this "Virtual Clone DVD" app in order to play an image?
I'm going to re-author the BD using individually encoded video segments as opposed to one video with chapter points and see if that works using the same project and menus.

Ann Bens Dec 26, 2009 2:11 PM (in response to nados)Power dvd does not support images that why you need Virtual Clone Drive (sorry not dvd) its free and from SlySoft.

nados Dec 26, 2009 4:02 PM (in response to Ann Bens)re-authoring and linking the individual video segments as chapter playlists to the same menu system worked.
I'll have to figure out what the problem is with the original layout later.... time to play with my kid.
Happy new year!

Great news! Glad that you got it sorted, and now the "detective work" begins.
Happy New Year!
