    Mozilla vs. IE

    lazulimages
      Hi-

      I'm getting a white margin around three pages on this website( http://ranchotecateshepherds.com/) when I view it on MF. I've tried to fix it but it does not seem to work.

      Please help-

      Thanks

          Hello,

          You have the header image in a paragraph.
          Different browsers use different default margins for a number of tags if you
          don't control the margin with CSS.
          FF's default top margin for <p> is bigger than IE's.

          You should remove the <p> tag around the image, as there is no reason for
          it.

          Change this:

          <td height="650" valign="baseline" width="693"><p><img
          src="images/margin.jpg" alt="margin" align="top" height="67"
          width="693"></p>

          to this:

          <td height="650" valign="baseline" width="693"><img src="images/margin.jpg"
          alt="margin" align="top" height="67" width="693">

          You should also add a margin for <p> tags to your CSS, to control it for any
          actual paragraphs in your site.

          p {margin: 0px 2px;}

          Adjust as needed.

          A couple of pointers, if I may.

          Table height is invalid HTML. Remove the height attributes from your tables,
          and let the content of <td> height control the table height.
          See here:
          http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Franchotecateshepherds.com%2F&charset=%28det ect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0

          You should zero out the body margin and padding, by changing you CSS for the
          body tag to this:

          body {
          margin:0;
          padding:0;
          background-color: #999798;
          }

          Take care,
          Tim
