that's the typical situation. what problem are you having?
I am developing an mp3 player (I have been posting to the AS 3 forum
and you have responded with helpful info, there).
In the Action Script 3.0 and 2.0 Flash player version 8 I am using
to load a play list from the html page. But as I write code around
version 7, I noticed that fsCommand() will not return a value to action
script, so my
work around is to use loadVars to get the play list directly into the
swf player app.
I thought I had seen the use of a loadVars attribute in the
object/embed tag sets

code will work
in Fire Fox on Mac OSX 1.5x with Flash version 10 plugin, But the
swf will not work in Fire Fox 1.5x with version 7 Flash plugin (on Mac
I am working with a local development server. I am using Flash CS4 and
the publish settings to version 7 player. Each version has a container
appropriate version in to the object/embed tag sets. I am generating
with publish settings for 7,8,9, & 10.

with flashvars there are 3 places where you need to define your variable(s): in a param tag, embed tag and the ac_fl_runcontent function. have you done that.

to find out how to use that.
I will do a google search but I have flash_as2_learning.pdf ( based on
doc downloaded from
Adobe site, and Action Script 2.0 Language Reference, as well as
O'reilly's Essential Action
Script 2.0 and 3.0. As well I will have to get documentation on
