DVD Burn error - unknown error 2130903552 or 2130906240

    ri-olson

Burn a movie from PRE 8 also similar from old PRE 3 and I get the above error almost at the end of the blue line showing burn progress.  I have tried different brand discs and 3 different DVD drives on external (Sony).  I have AMD processor dual and windows XP.

Are you able to burn to a folder on your hard drive rather than directly to a disc?

The FAQs to the right of this forum offer more suggestions for troubleshooting your issue.

Please give us the full specs. of your computer, your source files and also your Project Preset. A description of the Menu Set used, and how you set up your DVD Markers could also be useful.

Good luck, and we'll be looking for that info.

Here's an ARTICLE on one of the errors on the Roxio forum.

Maybe something there will be helpful.

I was able to burn to a folder on my hard drive.  I am not sure how to take

that file and burn a DVD.  What program can I use to de that?  Is there one

in Windows XP?  I used to use Roxio program, but when I tried updating to

version 7 a while back I had so much problems with the software I dumped it.

I would use the freeware burning utility, ImgBurn, to do the physical burning. Note: there are ads on that page for other software. You want ImgBurn and not something else. It's small, simple to use, and will actually allow more flexibility, than will PrE.

                        Good luck,

I tried using Imgburn and was not successful.  I tried to burn the folder to

This may be to much information, thanks for your help.

ImgBurn is a very lenient burning program. If it is having problems, then there is likely an issue with your burner.

The first thing that I would do would be to check for firmware updates for the burner. If that does not help, then I would go to Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager, and remove the burner. Then, reboot, and let the OS find the burner and install it. Test again.

If that does not work, you might want to think about a new burner.

                            Good luck,

This error is displaying because of two reasons 1. Bad DVD writer or  Bad disk. Please change the disk and burn a DVD.

I tried using Imgburn and was not successful.  I tried to burn the folder to

disc, I hope that was the right one.  Here is the data that it recorded

This may be to much information, thanks for your help.

I've had that problem with ImgBurn. I use the predecessor of ImgBurn - DVD Decrypter - it is more tolerant. It does not  decrypt modern DVDs but is still a great tool for disk writing.

                                Cheers,

This will display beacuse of two reasons.

                                  1. Damaged disk user for burning.

                                  2. DVD writer/driver must have some issues.
