              If you need code within the banner, then you need Flash.

                Thanks, you mean adobe flash player? I am a bit confused, if you could explain

                it a bit more. Thanks

                  No, I mean Flash, the application that is used to create Flash animations: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/ .

                  Images are static objects. They are rectangular grids of colors. If you want an object that users can interact with, then you need a dynamic Flash animation. More to the point. If you don't know what Flash is, then you need to hire someone who knows Web marketing and the use of banner advertisement as well as a designer/programmer who can make them.

                    You mentioned "HTML code", actually...

                    What you need is, I suppose:

                    1) an image (the banner -- small static image -- JPG, PNG, GIF, or animated GIF image),

                    2) a bit of HTML to show the image + link to your site on other sites.

                    Something like:

                    <a href="http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/" title="Why not see our great company site?">

                      <img src="http://www.YOURDOMAIN.com/images/banners/banner-01.gif" border="0" alt="" />

                    Am I right?

                    If you need this, then:

                    1) Adobe Fireworks will be perfect for you to create the banner(s) -- Fireworks is the tool for screen use; it can also easily animate small GIF files. If you need a non-animated static image, Photoshop or Illustrator will do the job, too.

                    2) You do not need a code editor for this -- the code example I posted is enough. Simply copy and paste, modify the paths, and you're done!

                    If you need something more complex -- Flash animations/banners, which will be embedded, and will link to your site or promo page, then I can't help, and you better go to the Adobe Flash forums
