    Check if webpage exists?

    Allen Gambrell

I am trying to use the http get or multipost commands to check and see if a page exists on a website.

I get it to work fine when a page exists and will send back known information, but when it does not exist the server sends back a 404.

The 404 page text that is returned can be differant for each website or server.

So how would I be able to check if the page is just there without knowing what the return of a good check would be?

      I am at a loss.

Here is the first few lines of a invalid page, 404

      <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
      <HTML><HEAD>
      <TITLE>404 Not Found</TITLE>
      </HEAD><BODY>
      <H1>Not Found</H1>

      ...
